So proud to share this certification with all of you
On this day, Thursday December 1, 2022, I received BIG news. It’s an accomplishment I thought wasn’t in my cards for quite some time.
But before I tell you this BIG news, let me give you a back story…
About 5 years ago I went through a transformation of sorts where I let go of all my old habits that were no longer serving me, it was like peeling back all the layers of the onion. With each layer came another realization of who I was supposed to be; or perhaps uncovering who I was all along. I'm grateful for my yoga practice as I believe this is what made me open my eyes and gave me the strength and discipline to stay the course and do the hard work. I needed to take a good look at what I wanted out of my life and move toward that goal no matter how much fear wanted me to stand still and stay safe.
During that process I realized I have 2 unique, defining characteristics that I like to call my superpowers.
My first superpower is – I am a guardian. I protect, in the physical sense, like a shield. I protect the vulnerable, the weak, the young and the ones I love. I have always been a shield. So, I would be the one who would take a bullet for you, literally.
But that’s not where my reach ends, that’s just a small portion of being a guardian. There are more important parts of this title to me.
I empower those I protect - in every sense of the word. This takes on various forms as not everyone needs the same support. It is an extension of my concern; I am a guardian during vulnerable times. My goal is to leave those I protect standing in their power, finding their natural talent and building them up to achieve their fullest potential.
My second superpower is – I am a facilitator; I make things happen. I put people together & ideas into action. I have also gained a reputation as being tenacious, this is a good quality to have when getting things done. If I fail at something, I’ll try again. Full disclosure – I might need a minute to heal from failure, but if the mission is that important to me, I will diligently finish the task.
With all this self-reflection it is not an accident that I own a children’s yoga studio. I have been preparing for this endeavor my entire life. Yoga is the vehicle in which I can share my superpowers & children are the ones I can help the most.
Now that I’ve given you the cliff note back story, it leads me to my big announcement:
I had mentioned earlier that I didn’t think this accomplishment would happen for quite some time … I was mistaken. I can recognize that my lack of research was one of the biggest factors in that assumption. Nonetheless, there was a defining moment while I was sitting in my office researching the requirements of my future endeavor, when I verbally said: “I have everything I need to do this.”“I am enough!” It was then I saw my “quite some time” window shrink dramatically as I had all the prerequisites I needed.
This was in August of this year. And on that day, I got to work creating my own children’s yoga teacher training course. As scary and arduous a task it was, I knew I had everything I needed to develop a 95-hour children’s yoga teacher training course. I poured my heart and soul into this endeavor, and I couldn’t be prouder of my content bringing my yogic background, personal development and children’s yoga knowledge to the table.
And here it is … on this day Thursday December 1, 2022, it gives me great pleasure to finally announce, my 95-hour children’s yoga teacher training application has been reviewed and approved.
I am officially recognized by the Yoga Alliance as a Registered Children’s Yoga School!!!
